The Globalisation of Caste

The second wave of South Asian immigrants, notably in the UK and US, mainly were privileged dominant caste groups. However, according to Vivek Kumar, Indian Dalits started migrating to the US in the 1970s, and their arrivals challenged the subdued caste hierarchies outside South Asia.
